Yesterday, 04-28-12, we gathered at Garner State Park to say our final goodbyes to mom. It was a bitter sweet gathering, one that touched each of us in different ways. We found a beautiful spot next to the river, with a tree growing just below a small cliff. After thoughts were shared her three children, Alan, Roy, and Robin, gathered at the tree and spread her ashes over the cliff. If mom were allowed to see her family and friends in this place yesterday, I'm sure she would have smiled. The love that she left us with, and the loved shared between us, friends and family alike, will stay with us in the years to come. So we leave this beautiful place, made even more beautiful as the final resting place of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. But we carry her memory and love in our hearts as we do.
